Dr Sanjay Pisharodi

... is a holistic health practitioner and teacher, specialized in Palliative Oncology from Cardiff University (UK) and University of California (USA). He is also qualified in several alternative therapies - Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yoga, Naturopathy, Sujok, Pranic healing, Medical Astrology and others, thus making the way for the practice of integrated holistic medicine.

Born into a family of traditional physicians of Kerala (ayurveda acharya), he was introduced at a tender age to studying the art of Traditional Indian healing called Ayurveda. Later he went on to specialize in modern western medicine from Indian and Western Medical schools. While he was under training in California and later in Wales and India, working on terminaly ill patients he was able to see the limitations of the modern medical approach.  He was also exposed to several alternative therapies used for healing patients at San Diego Hospice and in India. This triggered him to go back to his roots and he was inspired to integrate eastern and western traditions to solve the mystery behind the "incurable" maladies of the present day.

Spending many years in meditation in a monastery in India, extensive studies in the Vedas, Ayurveda and alternative healing and working with experienced Ayurvedic traditional healers of the Ashtavaidya tradition in Kerala (his home state) helped him to get a clear understanding of health from the holistic and Ayurvedic perspective and that that the underlying cause for all disease is the reckless modern lifestyle causing stress leading to toxin accumulation and misalignment of the body, mind and spirit. To identify, prevent and treat these issues as well as educate people became his passion and mission.

Since then he has trained in other alternative healing sciences, worked closely with medical doctors, business personnel, teachers, students and people from various walks of life and understood that the underlying foundational principles that affect us are one and the same. Now he travels around the globe distributing this valuable, simple and practical knowledge through seminars and workshops in Ayurveda, Yoga, Vedic Astrology, Traditional Chinese Medicine and others to heal the body, mind and soul. He is also an expert on the Ayurvedic Detoxification Method called "Panchakarma"trained at the National Research Institute of Panchakarma in India. He has spoken at various Medical Universities, Multinational Corporations, Yoga groups and general public both nationally and internationally. His courses are also available online. He is a visitng faculty at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and a reviewer of articles for the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine. He also serves as the consultant and advisor to many Ayurvedic educational institutions in India and abroad.

Dr Sanjay is the Director of Food for Life Medical Center, a charitable medical facility in Vrindavan, India. He is also the Co-founder and Director of an ambitious project - Purnarogya Holistic Health Care - a unique academy for learning and research along with a treatment resort dedicated to preserving the authenticity of the various healing techniques in Ayurveda, Yoga, Jyotish and Vastu. He is the author of a translation on the ancient Ayurvedic text - The Ashtanga Hridayam. He also integrates the art of Traditional Chinese Medicine along with the tradition of Indian healing. He carries with him, a perfect blend of the understanding of healing in the eastern and western traditions and a great vision to make it accessible, available, affordable and affable to one and all. He specializes in treatment and research of chronic physical and mental health conditions using a combination of eastern and western healing methods.

Bringing with him a vast experience of over 25 years of study, practice, living in monasteries, interacting with saints and healers alike, teaching and traveling around the world doing his healing work, he confirms "Any one branch of healing applied exclusively gives slower results. But the integration of techniques gives tremendous power to healing with quicker and better results. Every branch of healing has a unique perspective to offer."
